All 43 pets were entered into a contest where the winners were chosen by you—the community! The prize: a featured spot in the 2026 PAWS of Southwest calendar, which will be available at the Fall Family Fest on October 12.

Voting took place online from August 16 through September 6, as well as in person at the Southwest DC Community Center booth at the Saturday Farmers Market SW. Below were the pets and their assigned voting numbers. Voters selected their top 5 picks by choosing the numbers that corresponded to the photos of their favorite pets.
